OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Some state lawmakers say a bill dealing with student-teacher sex is likely to be proposed during the upcoming legislative session.
A bill making it illegal for a teacher to have sexual relations with a student under age 21 died in the state Senate last year when amendments were not voted on before the end of the legislative session. Current state law doesn't prohibit intimate relationships between school employees and students who are 18 or older.
State Representative Thad Balkman says such relationships are not appropriate even if the student is 18.
Balkman co-authored last year's bill with Senator Glenn Coffee.
This week Holdenville high school teacher Julie Miller resigned after accusations that she was sexually involved with one or more students.
