NORMAN, Okla. (AP) A Slaughterville man faces cruelty to animal charges after a Cleveland County sheriff's deputy found two dead horses and several others malnourished on the man's land.

Fred -C- Marshall was charged with the felony count Friday in Cleveland County District Court.

The deputy reported he saw two dead horses when he drove up to Marshall's residence last week. Three other horses reportedly appeared malnourished.

The deputy reported there was no food source on the land, and only ground water was available for the animals.
