A boy who was abducted from his home in Bartlesville this weekend - prompting a statewide Amber Alert is safe and is one step closer to being reunited with his family.

News on 6 reporter Heather Lewin says 4 year old Cage Scruggins was found after officers arrived his father, 36 year old Bradley Scruggins. Bradley Scruggins goes to jail, accused of two counts of aggravated assault and held on $500,000 bond. His son, Cage is safe in police custody.

Authorities followed Scruggins and caught up him and Cage's grandfather in Wagoner, acting on a tip from the Amber Alert hotline.

Scruggins family member Jonna Burkett: "We are very grateful to the Amber Alert system, that it worked the way it was supposed to and to the person that took it upon themselves to make that phone call. We appreciate that." Jonna Burkett is Bradley Scruggins' sister and Cage's aunt.

She said the worst part of the past week was not knowing where her nephew was. "You know that one of your loved ones is going to go to jail, but you also know that that baby, he's going to be home, he's on his way home. So it was kind of conflicting but it was absolutely a weight lifted off of our shoulders. We were happy about that."

"He's really been really good. He's a pretty personable little guy." Bartlesville Police Detective Kevin Ickleberry has been with Cage every step of the way since his recovery in Wagoner. He says Cage is in good spirits, but the 4-year-old gave a strong nod when he was asked if he was looking forward to seeing his mom soon. His family can't wait to see him either.

Jonna Burkett: "We're just ready to get a hold of him, to get to see him. None of us have actually seen him yet. So we're ready for that. He's my best little guy. I love him with all of my heart. You can't not love him if you know him. We're just, we're just glad he's home."

Bradley Scruggins may face a possible kidnapping charge for taking Cage, and Scruggins' father may be charged with aiding a fugitive. At last word Cage was still in protective custody with the State Department of Human Services.
