OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Firefighters rescued an 8-year-old boy from an ice-covered lake after he fell through the ice Sunday afternoon.

Oklahoma City firefighters found the boy in the lake at a west Oklahoma City apartment complex at about 1:30.

Battalion Chief Tony Young says the boy had fallen through the ice after walking on it with friends.

Three firefighters jumped into the lake and pulled the boy to safety.

The boy's name hasn't been released.

The boy had been in the water about 15 minutes when firefighters arrived.

Oklahoma City fire Lieutenant Lyndal Hadlock says the boy was treading water and holding onto the ice.

The boy was taken to OU Medical Center and was reported in good condition.
