OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The number of foreign students in Oklahoma's largest universities continues to decline since the September 11th terrorist attacks.
The University Tulsa has 489 international students this semester, a drop of 6.5%. The number of foreign students at Oklahoma State University is down by 202 and is down by 153 at the University of Oklahoma.
University of Tulsa junior Mohammad Khawaja from the United Arab Emirates says foreign students are choosing Canada, England and Australia.
He says a lot of families are afraid to send their children to the US because they don't know how they would be treated.
Tim Huff manages the international student program at OSU and says most of the students are at the top of their classes back home. And Huff says it'll be catastrophic if the US doesn't continue having exposure to future world leaders.
