The Tulsa County Sheriff's office has a new Undersheriff. Sheriff Stanley Glanz appointed chief deputy Brian Edwards to the post Monday.

Edwards has lived in Tulsa his entire life and has worked in every division of the sheriff's office during his career there. He was the original head of the first Gangs Intervention Team and helped developed the Tulsa County reserve deputy program.

Edwards is married, with four children and replaces former Undersheriff Bill Thompson, who passed away this fall.
