OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A pilot escaped injury Friday afternoon after landing his single engine airplane in an Oklahoma City lake.

The pilot was rescued by fishermen in a boat as the plane rested halfway in the water in Lake Hefner in northwestern Oklahoma City. He was the only person on board the plane.

The pilot's name hasn't been released. He says the plane lost power and he chose to land in the lake instead of a nearby golf course because he saw golfers on course.

The pilot's name wasn't immediately released.
