OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The first of an estimated 100,000 doses of the adult influenza vaccine will arrive at the state Health Department within the next six weeks.

The Visiting Nurse Association, which ran out of the vaccine earlier this month, will distribute another 38,500 doses.

The group is expected to begin administering 13,500 flu shots Monday at its office.

At least 16,000 doses will be given to people in Oklahoma City.

VNA wellness director Jan Guinn says other flu shots might be given out in other cities.

The state Health Department will distribute adult flu vaccine through 70 county health departments.

High-risk adults are targeted, people with chronic health problems, pregnant women and residents of long-term care centers.
