OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Despite the lack of a well-financed opponent, Congressman Tom Cole is taking his first re-election campaign seriously.
The Moore Republican is being challenged for his Fourth District seat by Norman independent Charlene Bradshaw.
Cole started the most recent campaign contribution reporting period with more than $633,000 and spent a little more than half of that.
Bradshaw says she has no funding for her campaign.
She says she's campaigning by word of mouth and by attending as many candidate forums as possible.
Cole is campaigning on being a strong supporter of President Bush and the prosecution of the war on terrorism. He has voted to increase the size of the military and has supported the president's tax cuts.
Bradshaw says she is concerned about courts tampering with rights, including the right to bear arms.
