MT. VERNON, Ga. (AP) _ Three inmates who escaped from a south Georgia prison over the weekend have been captured in southern Oklahoma.
The Department of Corrections in Georgia says they were apprehended in Love County by local police and a fugitive taskforce.
The three were arrested without incident sometime after 6:30 yesterday evening, few other details have been released.
The fourth fugitive, 30-year-old Tracy O. Mullins, who was serving at least three years for firearms possession and other offenses, was arrested yesterday after being shot by during a burglary in Birmingham, Alabama.
The men fled from medium-security Montgomery State Prison on Saturday after cutting a hole through a security fence.
Besides Mullins, officials identified the escaped inmates as 19-year-old Joshua J. Thompson, who was serving an 18-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter; 21-year-old Joseph M. Lee Junior, who was serving at least 12 years for armed robbery and other offenses, and 22-year-old Micah D. Sheer, who was serving 17 years for aggravated assault and burglary.
