Tulsa Police arrest a man for impersonating a police officer and then attempting to escape police custody.
Police say 27 year-old Frank Jones Junior was going into hotels in the 79th East Avenue area and identifying himself as police officer to hotel clerks. Officers quickly arrested Jones and transported him to a Tulsa police station. That's when Jones tried to make a break for freedom.
Tulsa Police officer Mark Shelton: "When the officer had pulled up to the uniform division east to book the paperwork, the suspect kicked open the door of his squad car and fled northbound into the neighborhood across the street from the police station."
Police tracked down Jones about four blocks away, where he was re-arrested. He was treated for a bite from a canine officer. He now faces several additional charges including felony attempted escape.
Officers say Jones is a parole violator from Louisiana.
