SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities are searching Sunday for a man who escaped from the Pottawatomie County jail. Authorities say it appears Gerard Shane Williams of Seminole used the jail's air ducts as an avenue to escape.

Police say Williams last was seen at 5:45 p.m. Sunday evening, running west away from the jail.

A Shawnee police spokeswoman says authorities set up a perimeter and were searching for the man.
