CUSHING, Okla. (AP) -- Funeral services are now set for a U.S. soldier from Cushing who was killed in New Guinea during World War II.

The remains of George Archer will be buried with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on September 10.

Archer and nine others died in April 1944 when their bomber crashed on a mountain during a tropical storm.

Archer's 84-year-old widow , Charlotte Magdeburg and the daughter he saw only in a photograph the day before he died, Elaine Wells will attend the service.
