OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The weather across Oklahoma is drying and allowing wheat farmers to finally get started harvesting their crop. State Wheat Commission director Mark Hodges says the harvest has started from the Texas state line and is moving northward to the Kansas line.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agriculture Statistics Service is predicting a harvest of 161 million bushels.
That would be a 97% increase over last year's harvest of 81.6 million bushels.
