Summer is officially here, and community pools are opening across the state. In Tulsa, McClure Park’s pool was opened on Saturday for its 8th annual Beach Bash to kick off pool season. Kids filled that pool splashing down the waterslide and swimming to the music.
Several other pools will open up on Sunday, including Lacy, Reed, and Zeigler pools. The Berry, Springdale, Turner, and Whiteside pools will be open on Monday.
Springdale, Turner, Whiteside and Zeigler pools will open this year thanks to donations to the City from several individual companies.
“Thanks to the generosity of several donors, children throughout Tulsa will have place to play for the summer,†Mayor Kathy Taylor said.
Several Tulsa pools will offer lessons for kids who need to learn to swim; you get information by calling 918-596-PARK.
In addition to pools, the City of Tulsa has 23 spray pools and four water playgrounds throughout the city. The water playgrounds are located in Helmerich Park, 7301 S. Riverside Dr., Hunter Park, 5804 E. 91st St., Mohawk Park, 5701 E. 36th St. North, and Vining Park, 6502 N. Cincinnati Ave.
