ATHENS, Ga. (AP) _ North Carolina roommates Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long rallied to beat the top-seeded William & Mary duo to claim the NCAA women's doubles title, the first in school history.
Anundsen and Long, seeded second, beat Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Earlier in the day, Marco Born and Andreas Siljestrom earned Middle Tennessee its first NCAA men's doubles title on their coach's final day before retiring.
Born and Siljestrom defeated Illinois' Kevin Anderson and Ryan Rowe 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4). Coach Dale Short is retiring after 20 years at Middle Tennessee.
``I'm a little bit at a loss for words. To go out like that is a dream of a lifetime,'' Short said. ``I have to give credit to the guys. They kept their composure, didn't think too far ahead and stepped up when it mattered.''
