OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers will be out in full force this weekend and focusing much of their efforts on drunken driving and people who don't wear seat belts.

Captain Chris West says there were 11 fatalities on state roadways last year over the holiday weekend, and nine of those killed were not wearing seat belts. He says troopers will have a zero-tolerance policy for seat belt and child-restraint violations.

West also warned visitors to Oklahoma lakes to be careful. Five people drowned in Oklahoma last Memorial Day weekend. Recent rains have created high water levels in lakes across the state.
