OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Calvary is coming to Oklahoma City. It's just not clear where they're going to be playing.
Despite an announcement by the city's new Continental Basketball Association team, officials at Oklahoma City University say there's no arena agreement with the Cavalry. OCU says the school couldn't successfully support both the CBA team, its own athletic
But CBA officials claim OCU backed out of the deal after learning that Michael Ray Richardson would be the team's coach.
Richardson was banned for life from the NBA after violating the league's anti-drug policy and was briefly suspended from his last CBA coaching job for inappropriate remarks he made to a reporter.
CBA President and CEO Ricardo Richardson says a deal was in place with OCU, but that the university pulled out after Michael Richardson was named coach.
OCU athletic director Jim Abbott maintains the school made the decision because of its students and not the CBA coach.
