A Broken Arrow cemetery had some help setting up its annual Memorial Day tribute to fallen veterans. Junior ROTC cadets fanned out across Floral Haven Friday, setting up more than 2,300 American flags. Each flag represents a fallen service member. Floral Haven will set up another 118 flags Saturday for a total of almost 2,500. They say it's a reminder of what Memorial Day is really about.
"Now so many people think of Memorial Day as the first big three day weekend of the summer, the time to go boating and playing, and they forget the history behind this is about the people who give us the freedom to do whatever we want on this day,†said Steve Moeller of Floral Haven Cemetery.
This is the 35 year for Floral Haven's "Avenue of Flags.â€
