AMHERST, Mass. (AP) _ Lauren Eckermann pitched a complete game to tie Oklahoma's season record for wins and lead the third-seeded Sooners to the super regionals with a 6-3 win Sunday against Massachusetts.
Eckermann (37-3) allowed only one earned run on five hits to tie the victories mark set by Jennifer Stewart in 2001. She allowed only two earned runs while pitching three complete games in the regional.
Oklahoma (55-6) will host 14th-seeded DePaul in super regional play next week.
Norrelle Dickson beat the throw home on Amber Flores' grounder to open the way for the Sooners' four-run third inning off Massachusetts starter Brandice Balschmiter (29-10). Samantha Ricketts added an RBI single, Jamie Fox brought in another run with a squeeze bunt and Lindsey Vandever made it 4-0 with a sacrifice fly.
An error by Dickson then helped Massachusetts (39-14-1) get back in the game in the bottom of the third. Whitney Williams and Stacy Cullington sandwiched RBI doubles around Amanda Morin's run-scoring single as the Minutewomen got within 4-3.
Oklahoma added two unearned runs in the fifth, and by then Eckermann was on her way toward retiring the final 12 batters in order.
