AMHERST, Mass. (AP) _ Top-ranked Oklahoma begins play Friday afternoon in the NCAA softball regional in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The Sooners are 52-6 on the year and play 25-22 Coalgate at 1 in the first game of the double-elimination regional.

Long Island plays host Massachusetts in Friday's second game.

The regional continues Saturday and the championship will be decided Sunday.
