CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) -- 2007 Southland Conference Player of the Year Chris Daniels has removed his name from the NBA draft

Daniels plans to return to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

He had declared for the draft but never hired an agent.

Daniels averaged 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds last season. He led the Islanders to their first regular season and conference tournament championships.

In a first-round loss to Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament, Daniels had 20 points and 9 rebounds.
