BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (AP) -- South Korea's Mi Hyun Kim says she will donate $100,000 of her winnings from the SemGroup Championship to benefit Kansans affected by a deadly tornado last week.
The donation to the United Way Greensburg Disaster Fund amounts to nearly half of the $210,000 Kim won Sunday at the LPGA tournament in Oklahoma. She defeated Hall of Famer Juli Inkster on the first playoff hole at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
Kim says she felt that she needed to do something to help.
She has made more than $6 million playing on the LPGA Tour since 1999, and says she usually donates money to causes in South Korea. But this time, she wanted to help out in the United States.
