SKIATOOK, Okla. (AP) -- A Skiatook woman dies after her car collides with a dump truck on a Tulsa County highway. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 57-year-old Dorothy Hammer was driving on State Highway 11 near Skiatook when the accident happened about 3:50 p.m. Monday.
Troopers say Hammer and a dump truck driven by 41-year-old Michael Brittian of Skiatook both were headed north. As Brittian was making a left turn, Hammer attempted to pass and struck the dump truck in the front driver's side.
The impact caused Hammer's vehicle to go off the road, where it hit a ditch. Hammer's car overturned 2-and-a-half times and Hammer was ejected about 21 feet.
Hammer was taken to a hospital in critical condition but died from her injuries about 8:30 p.m.
Brittian was not injured.
