WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) -- The U.S. House has passed a bill to renew a loan program that's intended to help Native Americans get loans to buy homes. The bill by Oklahoma Congressman Dan Boren would extend the program by five years.
The program began in 1992 and Boren says it's helped Native Americans buy homes, build homes and improve their property.
The bill now goes to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
