Several fires overnight kept Tulsa firefighters busy. About 2 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters were called to a house fire in 2800 block of West 47th Street. A man and woman were asleep in the house when they were awakened by a barking dog. The couple and their pets got out of the home unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A fire at Southern Hills Retirement Community at 5170 South Vandalia is also under investigation. It started a little before 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Tulsa firefighters arrived to find the roof on fire of a vacant building on the complex. Officials say apparently a fire in dumpster spread to the outside of the building causing some minor damage to the building.
No one was hurt in the blaze.
