POND CREEK, Okla. (AP) A single-car crash just east of Pond Creek turns fatal for the 16-year-old driver.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Simone Schuermann of Pond Creek died in the crash, which happened about 11:30 Saturday night southeast of the Grant County town.

The patrol says Schuermann was driving at a high rate of speed when her car left the road, and she overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll two-and-a-half times.

She was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Two passengers in the vehicle were treated and released.

The patrol says Schuermann was wearing her seat belt.
