ENID, Okla. (AP) _ Garfield County sheriff's deputies executing search warrants on pastures near Drummond find the carcasses of dead cattle.

Undersheriff Jerry Niles said officials obtained the warrants after reports of animal neglect and cruelty had been made.

A veterinarian accompanied deputies to two pastures located two miles southwest and four miles northeast of Drummond Wednesday.

Niles said 25 carcasses of dead cattle were found during the search, five in one pasture and 20 in the other.

Niles says area farmers told authorities some of the cattle had already had been taken away.
