OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Funeral services were held Monday in Oklahoma City for a Marine who was killed in Iraq. Lance Corporal Trevor Roberts died March 24th when the vehicle he was riding in hit a roadside bomb. He was just 12 days away from returning home.
A group that has protested at military funerals across the nation turned out for Robert's service in Oklahoma City. Services were at Eagle Heights Church in Oklahoma City with burial at Heritage Park Cemetery.
About a half dozen members of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas were kept about 200 yards from the church where services were held. State law limits when and where protesters are allowed during military funerals.
The 21-year-old Roberts was a graduate of Westmoore High School and was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve's 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division at Oklahoma City.
