PENTAGON (AP) -- The Marine Corps says a shortage of volunteers is forcing the recall of 18-hundred reservists. They'll be used to fill jobs in Iraq.
A spokesman says members of the Individual Ready Reserve will begin receiving their recall letters this week. The plan is to have them report for duty in October and deployed to Iraq early next year.
The IRR is made up of Marines who left active duty but still have time remaining on their eight-year commitment. This marks the second recall since President Bush authorized them last July.
