DEL CITY, Okla. (AP) _ A Del City woman who lost her home in a fire earlier this week receives a gift from strangers -- a new wedding dress.
Angela Stevenson's home burned Wednesday after a puppy accidentally opened a gas valve, leading to an explosion. Among the items lost in the fire was the dress Stevenson planned to wear for her wedding to David McCoy on April 7th.
The co-owner of a bridal store in Edmond heard of Stevenson's plight. Traci Cornman and her business partner, Tara Holdridge, offered Stevenson her choice of 10 dresses from Bella Rose Bridal and also gave Stevenson a veil and shoes for free.
Stevenson says her new dress is 10 times better than the one that burned and says she can't thank Cornman and Holdridge enough.
Another store, Sweiss Taylor Shop, is altering the donated dress for free, and an Oklahoma City woman, Susie Ziegler, offered Stevenson the use of wedding decorations that didn't get used after Ziegler and a former fiancee split.
