TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Cardinals have fired wide receivers coach Richie Anderson, four days after his arrest in a police prostitution sting operation.
The 35-year-old Anderson was taken into custody Thursday night on an accusation of soliciting an undercover Phoenix police officer posing as a prostitute.
The former NFL fullback was hired by new Cardinals coach Ken Whinsenhunt in January. Anderson played for the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys before retiring after the 2005 seasons. He was a 2000 Pro Bowl selection while with the Jets.
Anderson was the Jets' assistant wide receivers and tight ends coach last season.
