TULSA, Okla. (AP) Carter McQuigg hit a 2-run homer in the 6th inning, putting Oral Roberts ahead for good in a 10-4 victory Friday night over Central Arkansas.
ORU got on the scoreboard first with Kelly Minissale's 2-run homer in the bottom of the 3rd inning and Adam Younger added an RBI single in the 4th, but Central Arkansas (7-6) had an answer for each ORU score, thanks to a 2-run home run by Grant Gatlin and Jonathan Ashworth's homer.
After McQuigg, who finished 1-4, knocked in Brian Van Kirk to give Oral Roberts a 5-3 advantage, Kevin Rawls' groundout in the 7th inning got Central Arkansas within one, 5-4.
ORU pitchers then held the Bears to 1-hit and no runs over the final 2-innings.
A 4-run 7th, highlighted by a 2-run double by Stephen Pearson, sealed the win.
Jeremy Hefner (2-0) was credited with the victory after allowing 1-hit and 1-run in 4 1-3 innings of relief for Oral Roberts.
James Parsons (1-2) took the loss, allowing 4-hits and 6 runs, 4-earned, in 2 1-3 innings for Central Arkansas.
