A Tulsa businessman is using his towing company to help troops' families while their loved ones are at war. He says he feels compelled to help military families as the death toll continues to rise in the Middle East. The News On 6’s Jennifer Loren reports the owner of Central Towing and Recovery is a former Marine himself.

Jim says he's ready for our troops to come home from Iraq. But in the meantime, he thinks it’s important for everyone here to show support for the men and women fighting over seas.

"Everyone has their way of doing it, this is ours," he said.

He's showing his support with a new $100,000 Peterbilt wrecker, painted in our troops honor.

"We want the people to know that we care about their loved ones that are over there,” said Rice.

But this new wrecker isn't just for show; Central Towing plans to support our troops by supporting their families here on the home front. From now until the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are over they say they'll tow family members of our troops for free in Tulsa.

"If a guy goes off to serve his country, a lot of times the wife or daughter feels like they're kind of left behind. Now they've got somebody to call if their car breaks down," Rice said.

It may sound like a small gesture to some, but Rice says he'll be losing his own profits, hoping to make a big impact on those that need it.

"Everybody wants to get rich, I want to be rich someday, but right now I'd like to be rich with doing the right things and I think this is one of the right things, to help these people that’s sons and daughters are over there fighting for me and you," he said.

The man who will drive that wrecker is an Army veteran. As his own tribute, he plans to wear his Army fatigues every day until the troops come home.
