Oral Roberts' Turek Named Mid-Con Player Of The Year

ELMHURST, Ill. (AP) _ Oral Roberts forward Elisha Turek is named the Mid-Continent Conference women's basketball player of the year after leading the league in scoring and rebounding.

Turek averaged 17.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for ORU and also led the Mid-Con with 15 double-doubles and four offensive rebounds per game.

She also ranked in the top 10 in the league in field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage and steals.

Turek is the conference's career leader with 1-thousand-121 rebounds and ranks third all-time in scoring with 1-thosuand-995 points.

Beckie Francis was named coach of the year for guiding Oakland of Michigan, to the regular season conference title. The Golden Grizzlies will be the number 1 seed in the Mid-Con tournament, which starts Saturday in Tulsa.
