Tulsa area realtors are playing catch-up after a very cold January. Realtors say the cold temps and the unforgettable ice storm took their tolls on the Tulsa area housing market. They say now that its getting warmer, the market is booming. But January slowed things down significantly.
"Usually in January I write three or four contracts. And I don't think I showed three or four houses period," said Tulsa Realtor Robin Gentzen-Parker.
According to the Tulsa area MLS, there were 115 fewer contracts on homes this January than in January of last year. That made for a 9.3 percent decrease year to year.
It’s the first drop of its kind for Tulsa area real estate.
