Fatal Accident Stops Turnpike Traffic

A woman was killed on the Will Rogers Turnpike Wednesday morning. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Jennifer Beachne from Branson, Missouri ran out into traffic to get her dog and was hit by a semi.
The accident occurred about 6:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes near the Adair exit. OHP troopers say Beachne had pulled over to let the dog go to the bathroom, when the animal ran onto the highway.
A woman in Beachne's car witnessed the accident. Both Beachne and the dog were killed.
The westbound lanes of the Will Rogers Turnpike were shut down for three hours following the accident.
