EDINBURG, Texas (AP) Rebel Ridling goes 3-4 with 5-RBIs and hits a decisive 3-run home run in the 7th-inning as Oklahoma State beats Illinois-Chicago 8-5 today in the Citrus Tournament.
The win gave OSU a three-game sweep of the season-opening baseball tournament. Illinois-Chicago dropped to 1-2. The Flames led OSU 5-2 before surrendering 6-runs in Oklahoma State's final 3-at bats.
The Cowboys pulled within 5-to-4 with 2-runs in the bottom of the 6th, thanks in part to 3-Illinois-Chicago errors.
Ridling's home run off reliever Adam Worthington gave OSU the lead in the 7th-inning.
Josh Neal, the 6th-pitcher used by OSU, recorded double plays in the 7th-and 9th-innings to short-circuit potential Illinois-Chicago rallies.
Neal picked up his first win of the season.
