From wildfires to ice storms and tornadoes, Oklahomans have a history of dealing with natural disasters. Now, the American Red Cross is making sure Tulsans are prepared for disasters. They’re offering disaster readiness classes. The Red Cross hopes last month's ice storm inspires more people to be prepared for a disaster.
"We had so many people not prepared for that last storm,†GT Bynum with the Tulsa-Area American Red Cross said. “Its good to offer a course right after disaster strikes while it is still fresh in peoples minds."
The Red Cross says you should have a battery or crank radio and a gallon of water per person per day stashed away.
You can call the Red Cross for more information; their number is 918-831-1100.
