OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State health officials say influenza is being reported in several regions of Oklahoma and schools in northeastern Oklahoma are especially hard hit.
State epidemiologist Doctor Brett Cauthen says there are also large numbers of confirmed flu in southeast, southwest and east-central Oklahoma.
Cauthen says many of the cases involve elementary age children.
Flu symptoms start suddenly and include a fever of more than 100 degrees plus chills, headache, sore throat, cough, extreme fatigue and body aches.
