BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) _ An Oklahoma company makes the highest bid at the federal Bureau of Land Management's bimonthly regional sale of oil and gas leases in Montana.
Bureau oOfficials say the sale totaled about $2.million, about one million more than the total for the last sale, held in November.
Continental Resources of Enid, Oklahoma, bid $457,340 during Tuesday's sale for leasing rights on a 1,759-acre parcel in North Dakota's Billing County.
Of the 126 parcels offered, 67 were in Montana, 28 were in North Dakota and 30 were in South Dakota.
All leases are issued for a 10-year term.
