OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission says unemployment in December remained below 4 percent in Oklahoma for the sixth consecutive month.
The state's unemployment rate was 3.7 percent last month -- unchanged from November. OESC says the state posted a 3-10ths percent drop in non-seasonally adjusted unemployment when compared to December 2005.
The state job market continued to improve over the past 12 months, with employment up by more than 14,000 workers and unemployment down by more than 3,600. The agency says almost 1.7 million people were employed in Oklahoma last month and more than 65,000 were without jobs.
Oklahoma added more than 20,000 jobs over the last 12 months, primarily in the goods and services producing industries.
