MIAMI, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents approves an $8-million, seven-year contract with a Texas company that says it will cut the Oklahoma State University's energy costs by at least the cost of the contract.
Under the contract, Wichita Falls-based Energy Education will implement an education conservation plan for OSU students and staff and offer advice on how OSU facilities can be used more efficiently.
Regents approved the contract during a meeting Friday at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
The contract states that if OSU does not save at least what the program costs, Energy Education will pay the difference.
The company was founded 21 years ago by OSU alumnus William Spears, for whom the OSU College of Business is named.
OSU vice president of adminstration and finance David Bosserman says the program could save OSU as much as $30-million over seven years.
