OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Friends and relatives of a 6-year-old McLoud boy who was run over and killed by a car say the boy's 7-year-old brother and 12-year-old sister were taken into state custody at their brother's funeral.
The service in Oklahoma City was for Brandon Skalicky [pictured] who died when he fell from the hood of a car driven by his 12-year-old sister _ Emily Smith. 7-year-old Joshua Skalicky also fell from the hood of the car but wasn't injured.
A Pottawatomie County judge later issued an order temporarily placing Emily and Joshua in state custody.
Family members say police took the two children near the end of Friday's funeral for Brandon leading to chaos.
McLoud Police Chief Gary Row says officer felt they had no other choice and that police had not been able to contact the family about turning over the children.
An uncle of Emily and Joshua disputes that and says he returned a phone call to an officer and left his phone number and address where the children were staying.
