PRYOR, Okla. (AP) -- A skunk killed in Mayes County last week has tested positive for rabies.
The state Health Department confirms the skunk was rabid.
The skunk was killed while trying to get into a dog pen and officials say if the dogs are not put down they'll have to spend six months in quarantine.
The Department of Agriculture says more than 70 percent of all rabies cases in Oklahoma are carried by skunks.
