What are you doing New Year's Eve? Are your plans made, do you need a costume? At the very least you probably need a party hat. New on 6 reporter Rick Wells went to a party supply store and came home with lots of ideas for decorations, and of course, a party hat.
Folks are getting ready for parties big and small. Floyd Hannah at Ehrle's Party supply says some things have a new look this year.
"They are making horns longer, and the hats taller with more fringe on them," Hannah said.
But he says for New Years the basics are hats, horns and noisemakers, but there are some variations. Need a purple mohawk? Cool, goofy sunglasses, and how bout this air horn, the label says for adult use only.
How about a really big hat, Nick Reed is a bar manager and he's keeping it simple this year.
"Ya know just bought some decorations, some banners balloons hats all the 2007 stuff so everybody can ring it in right," Reed said.
One of the things that Ehrle's is famous for is the custom made hats, Tracy and the other hat specialists will customize it just the way you like it.
"We have women will bring in the dress they are going to wear New Years," said Hannah.
They'll want a coordinating hat! With a little bit of imagination, a little bit of decorating, you've got yourself a nice hat.
Something new this year you can rent, a confetti cannon, Happy New Year, somebody get a broom.
If you need a party hat for yourself Ehrle's will be open Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday afternoon until 5 p.m.
