A Tulsa Police officer is recovering after being hit by a car early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the Barcode Bar at 68th and Lewis on a report of a man with a gun.

The suspect drove off and officers followed, said officials. At some point an officer got out of his car and was hit by the suspect's car, authorities said.

The officer suffered injuries to his leg and neck; he was released from the hospital Sunday morning.

The suspect was not caught.
