Thursday night, there was a big fundraiser to help Lynn Scott, a Tulsa woman who was blinded in an acid attack. The money gets Scott closer to her goal of raising enough money to pay for surgery that may restore her sight.

News on 6 anchor Craig Day says Lynn Scott says she prays often that she'll be able to see again. And she says the generous help of others is the answer to another prayer.

Although, Lynn Scott can't see the models, clothing and smiles, she can feel the love, generosity and thoughtfulness of others. The community group "People Empowering People" held a benefit style show for Scott Thursday night. "I'm just grateful, I'm very grateful for all this that all these people are doing for me and my family, my children especially."

Scott lost her vision when acid was thrown into her face on the front porch of her Tulsa home. Two people, including Scott's former boyfriend, were convicted.

The style show will help raise money for Cornea transplants, which will hopefully restore at least some of Scott's vision. Walter Armstrong organized the fundraiser which brought hundreds of people hoping to help. "She's always happy. She's always upbeat. She never says if I see again, she always says when I see again.â€

Thanks to fundraisers like this one, and donations from businesses and people across the Tulsa area, the medical fund for Lynn Scott is now up to around $13,000. But much more is needed to pay for the surgery she needs. Scott needs $28,000 for the surgeries.

She's confident that goal will be reached. "God is working in real mysterious ways. Answering my prayers a lot.â€ Craig Day: â€œits comforting going to him isn't it?â€ Lynn Scott: â€œYes." Walter Armstrong: "She's an inspiration to anyone who is around her."

With every dollar raised, Scott is one step closer to a day she's looked forward to the day when she may be able to see once again. â€œMy heart is telling me that it is going to happen. I'm going to see again.â€

There is more encouraging news for Lynn Scott. Friday, doctors and employees at Tulsa OB-GYN will present her with a check for $1,000 to go toward her surgery. Employees raised $500 and doctors matched it.
