It's not often we get to meet the nation's best at something, but, "Molly' is the top ranked agility dog in the country.

News on 6 reporter Rick Wells met her for a final tune up before she heads to California and the AKC Invitational.

“Good Golly Miss Molly” is a 6-year-old Silky Terrier and she's the top ranked agility dog of her breed in the country. “Molly” owner David Rose: "I saw a demonstration of agility and I said that's what I want to do."

He started with Zoie, also a Silky, although she took to it well enough and made the top ten, she wasn't fast enough to crack the top spot. Then Molly came along, faster but her first competition was less than stellar. "She went back to the entrance where the dogs come in, and pooped. Course you're disqualified when that happens."

She's gotten better, much better. She's the top dog and like all big stars, a little temperamental, when we followed too close with the camera, she let us know to back off. David says the hardest thing to teach any dog is the weave poles. Molly's so small though, it's almost like running a straight line.

She's fast and she's good. This invitation to the AKC competition in California is a reward for a great competitive year. Although Molly is the only competitor, Zoie is going along and the airline has OK'd 'em to ride as carry-on bags.

Although parts of the AKC competition will air on the Animal Planet cable channel this weekend, the agility competition can be seen on February 11th.
