Oklahomans are sending home cooking to US troops overseas.
The Cherokee Casino in Catoosa and six other Cherokee casinos baked and packed up 10,000 cookies to send to American service members in Iraq. Besides satisfying their sweet tooths, the care packages also include much needed every day items like toiletries, magazines, batteries and phone cards.
Cherokee Nation Enterprises CEO David Stewart: "It gets our employees involved and show their appreciation. Also it allows us to be a part of the community and really to give back."
The Blue Star Mothers will also be taking donations to send in Christmas Care Packages to our troops. They'll be taking donations Thursday, from 2 to 6 PM at 21st and Sheridan and 60th and Sheridan in Tulsa.
